SHARE COWBOY CROONERS COMING TO ELKO FOR MUSICAL MEET

The Cowboy Music Gathering kicks off in Elko, Nev., this weekend. From June 24-26, some of the most respected names in cowboy crooning today will be putting on concerts, workshops and history lessons.

Ramblin' Jack Elliot, the Pfeiffer Brothers, Riders in the Sky and a host of "cowgirl" voices ranging from the modern sounds of Stephanie Davis to the traditional songs of the Hays County Girls will be on hand. There will also be a singing cowboy exhibit featuring music and memorabilia from 1920s on down. Participants will also get in on ranch cooking, cowboy dancing and hundreds of crafts. Since the first gathering last year, cowboy music itself has achieved fresh interest and new status in America. This year's Elko event should add to the interest.
