Two teens were critically injured when their motorcycle collided with a car Thursday night at 5290 W. Banquet Ave. (6470 South).

The bullet bike struck the older model Pontiac Grand Prix on the left side about 8:45 p.m. and then flipped over the hood, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Gil Howard.Investigators said the vehicle was making a U-turn in an intersection. Witnesses said the eastbound motorcycle was traveling at high speed and the driver apparently did not see the car. Both teens were thrown about 100 feet and neither wore a helmet.

There were no skid marks at the scene of the accident, said sheriff's Lt. Jay Labrum.

The motorcycle driver, 18-year-old Kaisa Kinikini, and passenger Melissa Yates, 16, of West Jordan, were taken by helicopter to LDS and University hospitals. Both were listed in critical conditions Friday.

The driver of the car, Nalvin Haskan, 21, of Oquirrh, was not injured.
