Brian Dennehy is planning a visit to his childhood home. Scout's honor.

The burly actor, who had roles in such movies as "Cocoon," "F/X," and "First Blood," will attend a banquet in September in Derby, Conn., to honor his former Cub Scout master, Edmund Strang.Dennehy, 55, a member of Pack 3, sang "Be a Good Scout" during the Scouts' 1947 annual revue.

"We like to think that Brian got his start here," scoutmaster Randy Ritter joked.

Strang said he's honored. "I didn't know I had made an impression on him," he said. "He was always a nice kid and was never any trouble."
