SHARE INJUNCTION AGAINST CFL COLTS PENDING

The owner of the new Baltimore franchise in the Canadian Football League today denied he ever intended to capitalize on the goodwill of the Indianapolis Colts or the NFL.

That's because, in Baltimore, there is no goodwill toward the NFL team that deserted the city 10 years ago, owner James Speros testified in U.S. District Court.The Indianapolis Colts, the NFL and NFL Properties, Inc., are seeking an injunction to prohibit Speros from using the name Colts, claiming it is an infringement on their trademark.

Judge Larry J. McKinney gave no indication when he would make a ruling on the injunction. The new CFL Colts play their first exhibition game tonight at Shreveport, La.
