SHARE BOUDREAU NAMED IHL COACH OF THE YEAR

Bruce Boudreau of the Fort Wayne Komets was a unanimous selection as the International Hockey League coach of the year, the league announced Friday.

In his rookie season with the Komets, Boudreau led the team into the playoffs with a 41-29-11 record. The Komets then advanced to the Turner Cup finals for the third time in the last four years before losing to Atlanta.It was the second consecutive year a Komets coach has won the Commissioners' Trophy as the league's top coach. Al Sims won the trophy last season before leaving to become an assistant with Anaheim of the NHL.
