SHARE BLM AND PARK SERVICE ISSUE FIRE RESTRICTIONS

The Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service have issued fire restrictions for the entire state, with the exception of Daggett, Duchesne and Uintah counties, beginning Wednesday, June 29, at 12:01 a.m.

The order is effective until further notice.It will prohibit open fires of any kind, including smoking and fireworks on all state, private and national forest lands as well as public lands, the Utah Division of State Lands and Forestry stated in a press release. Campfires will be allowed only in designated campground and picnic areas.

Fire officials emphasized conditions are extremely dry and the fire season is four to six weeks ahead of normal.
