Salt Lake City on Friday drew the No. 2 position in the lineup for making presentations to host the 2002 Winter Games.

"It's a great position," said Anita DeFrantz, the U.S. member on the IOC executive board. "Second up, everybody will be there and still be alert."Salt Lake City will be among 10 candidates making pitches to the International Olympic Committee Jan. 24, 1995.

The presentations will be made just before a special IOC panel selects a short-list of four finalists. The final vote will be at the IOC session in Budapest, Hungary, in June 1995.

Salt Lake City, which lost narrowly to Nagano, Japan, in the race for the 1998 Winter Games, is considered a front-runner for 2002.
