Every day I am appalled at the horrendous brutality committed against children, many so brutal, it boggles the mind.
As a parent and grandparent, I am sickened not only by the deeds but by the system that allows plea bargaining and legal wrangling that reduces punishments for such actions to a mere slap on the wrist. What kind of justice is this for these defenseless folks? Can we not as adults do something to stem the flow of such atrocities? Do our legislators need more education on this matter? Do our judges need an attitude adjustment?
These maniacal savages must be punished in a manner befitting the crime. A plea of temporary insanity is a cop-out and should not be a consideration.
