A West Valley SWAT team found guns, drugs and money Thursday after executing a no-knock search warrant at a home suspected to hold a cache of stolen property.

At least four people were taken into custody at 3911 S. Atlas Way (4580 West). One man, 32, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of residential burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

His brother, no age available, was later discovered in a van near the home after neighbors reported a commotion. The man had spray-painted the van in an effort to elude police, West Valley Police Lt. Richard Sweeney said.

The brother was booked for possession of stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At least two other people were booked for investigation of similar charges.

Informants tipped police that at least two people who live at the home regularly carry weapons and keep stolen property and drugs inside the house, according to West Valley Police Sgt. Lynn Hanson.

"They came up with a lot of the stolen stuff the (informant) said would be there," Hanson said. Police confiscated at least seven loaded weapons, most reported as missing property by burglary victims, according to Sweeney.
