Jefferson B. Fordham, outstanding leader in legal education, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, died in Salt Lake City, June 24, 1994.

Born in Greensboro, N.C., July 8, 1905, to Christopher Columbus and Maggie Shepherd Fordham. Married Rita Ennella, March 21, 1964. Graduated from University of North Carolina with a B.A. in 1926, M.A. and J.D. in 1929, received a J.S.D. from Yale in 1930. Law professor at W.Va.U., LSU, Vanderbilt, and Utah, law dean at Ohio State and University of Pennsylvania. Author of law books and articles. Phi Beta Kappa, Order of the Coif, Benjamin Cardozo lecturer, William Leary lecturer. Lt. Commander, US. Navy, Pacific Fleet 1942-45.Survived by wife, Rita, sons, Robert N. and William C., their wives, three granddaughters, nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by parents, three brothers, and Rebecca Norwood Fordham.

Memorial service, Utah College of Law, Moot Courtroom, Tuesday, June 28, noon. In lieu of flowers, gifts to Fordham Scholarship Fund at University of Utah College of Law. "He is composed of a core of Vermont granite enclosed in a covering of southern charm.
