Brush fires char Southern California San Bernardino County firefighters battle a 2,500-acre blaze on Monday near the town of Wrightwood about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. The fire destroyed 10 homes in Pinon Hills over the weekend. Officials believe the fire sprang Saturday from a campfire near a Boy Scout camp. More than 1,300 firefighters battled to contain the blaze early Monday, the Forest Service said. Crews also are battling a 3,000-acre blaze in Soledad Canyon. Other fires have charred parts of Riverside and San Diego counties.
