SHARE DEATH: HYRUM ""DUTCH"" PEART CANNON

Hyrum Peart Cannon, 88, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away June 26, 1994.

He was born November 5, 1905 in Colonial Juarez, Mexico, to John M. and Margaret Peart Cannon. He married Hazel Mary Sowards, August 30, 1934 in the Logan LDS Temple. He graduated from Logan High School and Utah State University, where he was active in sports and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He maintained an interest in tennis all of his life and was president of the Utah and Intermountain Tennis Associations. He was influential in helping to establish Little League Tennis. He worked in the insurance industry for many years serving as president of the Utah Accident and Health Association and president of the Association of Utah Life Underwriters.He was a devoted church worker serving in the LDS church as bishop, high councilor, High Priest group leader and youth leader. His life focus was service to others. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years in January 1994.

He is survived by a son, Harmon S. (Carole Anne), Salt Lake City; a daughter, Ida Christine (William L. Bracy), Princeton, New Jersey; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary C. Peck, Salt Lake City; brothers, Paul B. Cannon, Salt Lake City and Sterling B. Cannon, Roy, Utah.

Funeral services Wednesday, June 29, 12 Noon, 27th East Ward Chapel, 1300 E. Fairfax Road (350 North). Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the Ward on Wednesday, 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Burial, Logan City Cemetery.
