Morris Travel, 230 E. Morris Ave., has formed a new tour company, Morris Vacations, to market low-cost tours to Mexico and other key locations.
Mark Slack, Morris Travel president, said the new company will specialize in charter and other low-cost high-value packages available at any of the 25 Morris Travel locations and other travel agencies. He expects to fill the void left in the market when Southwest Airlines, which recently purchased Morris Air, discontinues low-fare service to Mexico in the fall. Morris Vacations will supplement the charter flights with other low-cost fares from scheduled airlines, he said.
Greg Jewkes, former vice president of sales and marketing for Morris Air, is now the vice president of sales and marketing for Morris Vacations. "We intend to provide the same great schedules, same low prices and same destinations, with the same hotels and resorts," Jewkes said.
