There was more than one highlight for Garth Brooks at the VH-1 Honors show.

Not only was the country singer recognized for his charitable work with Feed the Children, he was introduced by his hero: singer James Taylor.Brooks cites Taylor as a big influence on his career. He named his first child, a daughter, Taylor.

"One out of a million people gets to meet his heroes," Brooks said. "One out of a million heroes turns out to be the kind of person you thought they would be. James was everything I thought he'd be and more."

Taylor and Brooks performed duets of Taylor's "Sweet Baby James" and Brooks' "The River" on the cable music video channel Sunday.
