Sevier School District administrators and members of the board of education will study a proposed budget of more than $21.3 million during the next few weeks, prior to the annual public hearing in August.

The proposed budget is slightly lower than the 1993-94 budget. It also includes $244,000 for a new addition to the Ashman Elementary School in Richfield.Anticipated state revenue will probably be less for the 1994-95 school year than last year, but more money is expected from local sources. The state has lowered its tax rate but a local growing economy will raise assessed valuations in Sevier County by about $17 million, said Pat Wilson, district accountant.

The present tax figures are based on state and local projections, which will likely change before the official budget is adopted.
