An Orem hardware store clerk was held at gunpoint by a customer who felt he was shortchanged 40 cents.
Orem police spokesman Gerald Nielsen said the male customer purchased some items that totaled $15.41 at Ernst Home and Nursery last weekend. The clerk told police that the customer handed him a $20 bill and a penny. When he returned $4.60 change, the customer demanded that he had a $5 bill coming.As the customer and clerk debated, the customer pulled out a small pistol from a fanny pack and demanded the $5 bill. At gunpoint, the clerk gave the man $5 change.
