UTAH BANKER IS ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF ASSOCIATION

SHARE UTAH BANKER IS ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF ASSOCIATION

Roy C. Nelson, president and chief operations officer of Bank of Utah, was elected chairman of the Utah Bankers Association Wednesday morning as the professional association closed its 86th annual convention here.

Roland R. Corriveau, executive vice president and chief lending officer of Bank One Utah, was elected vice chairman.Five other bankers were elected to two-year terms on the UBA's 14-member board of directors. They are A. Scott Anderson, Richard G. Horne, Garr B. Morrison, Richard L. Nelson and Paul A. Neuenschwander.

Roy Nelson became president of Bank of Utah, Ogden, in 1985 and was previously associated with Commercial Security Bank and American Savings & Loan Association.

He graduated from the University of Utah, the Pacific Coast Banking School and the University of Indiana Senior Commercial Lending School.

Nelson serves on the American Bankers Association Government Relations Council and is a past president of Western Independent Bankers. He sits on the board of McKay Dee Hospital and is chairman of the Institutional Review Committee of the McKay Dee Medical Center.

He is a member of the Weber State University Advisory Board and formerly a board member of the Ogden Chamber of Commerce, the Federal Reserve Bank, Salt Lake City Branch; and WSU Institutional Council where he served as chairman from 1981 to 1986.

Corriveau has been affiliated with Bank One for 23 years in Arizona and Utah. He serves as a member of the bank's executive committee and its board of directors. He is responsible for all corporate, middle market, com-mer-cial real estate and indirect lending. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Arizona and a post graduate degree from the American Graduate School of International Management.

Anderson is executive vice president of retail banking for Zions First National Bank. He holds a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree from Columbia University.

Horne is senior vice president and Trust Division manager for First Interstate Bank of Utah. He also manages the Trust Investment Division for the bank's Southwest Region. He is a graduate of Brig-ham Young University.

Morrison is president and CEO of Lewiston State Bank, Lewiston, Utah, and also serves on the board of directors. He graduated from BYU. He served as mayor of Lewiston.

Richard Nelson is executive vice president of Key Bank of Utah. He is a graduate of Utah State University and the Pacific Coast Banking School. He is a licensed CPA and a director of the Utah Arthritis Foundation.

Neuenschwander is president of United Savings Bank, Ogden, Utah. He graduated magna cum laude from WSU and received an MBA from the U.

Continuing UBA board members include John W. Allen, CEO, Sun Capital Bank, St. George; Jeffrey P. Gaia, CEO, Bank One, Utah; Howard G. Holt, CEO of First National Bank of Layton; Patricia A. Richards, executive vice president and manager of the Trust Group, First Security Bank of Utah; and Don I. Sauer, CEO, West One Bank, Utah. Lawrence W. Alder continues to serve as UBA president and chief staff officer.
