An woman walked into a Salt Lake shoe store Wednesday night and walked out moments later with the evening's profits.
A clerk at Payless Shoesource, 2274 S. 1300 East, told police the woman entered the business about 6:30 p.m. and stated she had 30 seconds to collect all the cash in the till or a man waiting outside with a gun would run in and start shooting, according to a police report.The clerk handed the money over in a plastic bag and the woman, believed to be in her mid-20s, left.
Moments later, the thief walked past the store - without the bag - and signaled to employees to call 911 before scurrying out of sight.
No arrests have been made.
