Our beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Marie Thorne Jeppson, 84, passed away June 28, 1994, of heart failure.

She was born January 14, 1910, in Brigham City, the daughter of Henry Leslie Thorne and Oneta Johnson Thorne.In 1941 she married Earl Jeppson in the Salt Lake Temple. They were later divorced.

Marie graduated from Weber College and later received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Utah State University in Art, Music, and English. She did post-graduate work at Western Michigan University, University of Manchester, England, and local colleges.

She served on the State Secondary Art Curriculum Committee and helped write and edit the Utah State Secondary Art Guide. She worked with the UEA Ethics and Professional Relations Committee. A person of many talents, she wrote several published articles for National Music Journal and was featured in an article in the Deseret News Supplement and Etude Magazine. She designed many state and county exhibits and wrote the script currently being used for the Golden Spike Centennial re-enactment.

She had served as Chairman of the Brigham City Museum-Gallery.

She was active in the LDS Church and served in all auxiliary organizations.

She is survived by: A brother, James and Norma Thorne, Logan; and sisters, Helen T. Smith, Bountiful; and Edith and Wayne Johnson, Brigham; ten nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 1994, 12 noon, in the First LDS Ward Chapel, 236 East 100 South, Brigham. Friends may call at Petersen Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham, on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday one hour prior to services.

Burial is in the Brigham City Cemetery.
