As I read the paper each night, I tremble to think of what the next big mistake is going to be. I wonder how many times we can excuse our legislative representatives for the blunders they make.

A $60 million pump that sits on the west side of the lake is rusting away. We collected taxes from retired federal workers and are now repaying them. We gave $15 million to a new Salt Palace we didn't need and which was the go-ahead for the Salt Lake County commissioners. We are spending millions on the Olympics before we even know we will get them.I could write 10 pages on city, county and state mistakes. How can we have faith in our elected officials when they continually use poor judgment and ask us to back them up when they pledge our credit for more tax dollars?
