`GOOD RIDDANCE’ TO WAC TOURNEY

SHARE `GOOD RIDDANCE’ TO WAC TOURNEY

As one who has attended the past two WAC basketball tournaments at the Delta Center, I greet the news of its demise and relocation to Albuquerque with the cheer "good riddance." If this is the best the WAC could offer in terms of customer satisfaction, then it surely doesn't belong here.

I hope the good people of Albuquerque will be able to endure a tournament fraught with disorganization, outrageous ticket prices, a TV blackout in the local area, top games played in the middle of the day, WAC officials who ridicule the local "customers" by chiding them for not getting in the ticket lines sooner and missing most of the first half of a game and a $100 family ticket package that is no longer offered for sale three days before the tournament starts even though the arena is 70 percent unsold.Garth S.
