SHARE 8 UTAHNS MAKE WRESTLING USA ALL-AMERICAN TEAMS

Eight Utah high school seniors were recently named to the Wrestling USA All-American teams.

Leading the way was West High's Jeff Holtry, who was named to the "Dream Team" as the top heavyweight wrestler in the country. Holtry was a three-time Utah state heavyweight champion. Holtry was also named top heavyweight in the country by Amateur Wrestling News.Joining Holtry on the Wrestling USA team are Wayne High's Cory Anderson and Mitch Stevens. Anderson, who has two state titles, was named to the All-Academic team. Stevens, who also has two state titles, was named to the All-American team in the 152-pound weight class.

Five other wrestlers were named honorable mention (among top 100 wrestlers in the country). They are: Kip Davis, Panguitch; Travis Sanders, Panguitch; Brett Gappmeyer, Wasatch; KC Rock, Morgan; and Rhett Maxwell, Brighton.
