About the same night I read a letter from John Preston Creer (Forum, May 24), I read in a national magazine much of the same information about guns, the NRA and tobacco companies. The magazine indicated it was "politically correct" for those who were running for office to "pick on the NRA and the tobacco companies."
I wonder if Mr. Creer is about to make a run for an elected office? It is not politically correct to "bash" automobile companies and or liquor producers, but surely in America those two products kill and destroy more lives in a day than guns do in a year.
I find it very amusing that Mr. Creer asks, "How many kinds of ugly, killing weapons do we as a Christian people need to defend ourselves from each other?"
I wonder about President Clinton and the law about abortion clinics and the good people who try to stop that killing. Abortions and those who advocate them kill more than guns, tobacco, autos and liquor combined.
