At 42, Joey Ramone still needs to be sedated.
Ramone threw himself a birthday bash at a Manhattan bar Friday night, looking remarkably the same as when his band first hit the punk rock scene 20 years ago.Debbie Harry sang "Happy Birthday." Ramone and his brother, Mickey, performed a set that included Ramones songs "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "Beat on the Brat."
Their father, Noel Hyman, watched with a mixture of pride and awe.
"When Joey started, he was a drummer and he was just always losing his equipment," said Hyman, a retired trucker. "I was so pleased when he decided he was just going to sing."
