American Fork Harold Wesley Johnson, 76, died June 2, 1994 in Provo, Utah.
Born December 22, 1917 in Park City, Utah, to Joseph F. and Naomi Watson Johnson. He married Dorothy Alice Lloyd December 21, 1941 in Helper, Utah.She died June 10, 1944. He married Betty Leona Liddell April 18, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple. He spent his early life in Spring Canyon, graduating from Carbon High School. As a teenager he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. During World War II, he served in the Army Signal Corps in the States and in India, honorably discharged in 1946. He worked as a Supervisor, Production Planning, at Geneva Steel, retiring in 1981 after 35 years. An active member of the LDS Church, he served as Financial Clerk, High Priest Secretary, Stake Statistical Clerk, Stake Sunday School Presidency, and Temple Worker. He was an avid BYU fan, belonged to the Cougar Club, and held season basketball tickets for over 40 years as well as season football tickets. He was a member of the Lions Club and a charter member of the Alpine Country Club.He is survived by his wife, Betty, of American Fork, five children: Phyllis (Michael) Walton, Carl (Jamela) Johnson, all Salt Lake City; Beverly (Thomas) Prestwich, Gwen (Alma) Davis, all Mesa, Arizona; Paul (Julie) Johnson, Bowling Green, Kentucky; 20 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Perkins, Springville; and a brother Edwin (Marilyn) Johnson, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a son, David Harold; parents; two brothers; and two step-granddaughters.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork 7th Ward, 165 North 350 West. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, Monday 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the Church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.
