Dave, 7, was born Sept. 4, 1986. He is a little boy who loves to answer questions. Like most boys his age, he enjoys "bideo" games, TV and playing outdoors. He says he wants to have a family to grow up with that "won't hurt me or tell me what to do."

Although he can dress and feed himself like most children his age, he is delayed in speech, academic and emotional development. He takes medication for Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder and is in a day treatment program where he receives occupational and speech therapy. Dave is in therapy, which will need to continue, to help him deal with trust issues, relationships with men, impulse control and oppositional behaviors.Dave is shy with strangers and can be aggressive with other children. He has spent the past four years in two foster homes and his current foster parents feel he will be able to bond with a family that is very committed to him and that is not afraid of setbacks. An Anglo family where Dave would be the youngest or only child is preferred. He has an older and younger brother with whom he'll need to stay in touch. Financial assistance is available to cover some of the costs of adopting and raising this youngster.
