The fifth stop of the Cannondale Cup Fat Tire Series was in Price for the Butch Cassidy Blowout cross country and downhill race.
In the Men's Pro/Expert category, Martin Stenger (Brackman's) rode consistently to take the win. Avoiding mechanical failures for the first race of the year, Stenger took the lead into the first lap of the 28-mile race. His winning gap was 2:34 over Dan Graves (Park City Cycling Club). Placing third was Mitch McBeth.In the Women's Pro/Expert event, out-of-state racers took the top two spots. Colorado's Britton Hlista won both the 2-lap women's cross country title and the 2-mile downhill time trial. Jules Klatt from Oregon and sponsored by Weider Nutrition of Utah took second in both events. Roxanne Toly was third in the cross country followed by Teresa Williams and Anita Merbach.
Junior Expert Gene Hilton dominated the Junior category with nearly a six-minute win over Garn Liddell and Bryan Gillespie in the cross country. Ed Chauner and Cyndi Schwandt won the Veteran Men's and Women's Expert class in the cross country.
