Weber State University will hold its 105th commencement Friday. Nearly 2,000 bachelor's degrees will be awarded, along with 70 masters degrees, 1,150 associate degrees and 40 institutional certificates.
Dee Ward Hock, WSU alumnus and founder of the VISA credit card organization, will speak during ceremonies in the Dee Events Center. The program begins at 8 a.m., preceded by an academic processional.Student speakers will be Brett Chugg, student body president; Janice Olson White; and Brent Hilvitz.
Individual colleges and programs will hold convocations after the morning ceremonies. A picnic for graduates, families and others will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the soccer field west of the social sciences building. At 4 p.m., about 800 graduates will honor spouses, relatives or friends who helped in their college educations.
