John Joseph Murnin passed away June 7, 1994.

He was born October 9, 1917 in Rosstrevor, County Down, Ireland, the son of James and Ellen Caulfield Murnin.He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Married Elizabeth "Beth" Nevin, July 25, 1953. He retired from CB&I after 26 years. The past 11 years he worked at the Davis County Clipper. He was a member of St. Olaf's Parish of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Beth; daughter, Mary Ellen (John) Heise; son, Stephen John (Lori) Murnin; and granddaughters, Michelle, Jennifer, Kristi; brothers, William, Eamon D. and Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Barney and James.

Our special thanks to the Lakeview Hospital staff for the special care given to John.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11 a.m. at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, 1800 South Orchard Drive in Bountiful. Holy Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7 p.m. at the church, where friends may call from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the Funeral Mass on Monday. Committal: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Olaf's Building Fund, 313 East 1700 So., Bountiful, UT 84010, or the St. Vincent DePaul Center, 437 West 200 South, SLC, Utah 84101.
