Born August 13, 1953 to Nora and Alfred Grundvig in Bountiful, Utah. Married Wayne S. Battermann of Long Island, New York. They had two wonderful sons, Slade and Rustin.

It is no coincidence that Shelley died on D-Day, June 6, 1994. She fought her battle against cancer with as much determination and valor as any soldier could have fought on any battlefield. She never gave up her fight-the higher powers knew that her battle-fatigue and suffering was enough. God called home many brave and weary souls on this day throughout history. She is healing in the peace and freedom she fought so long to gain.Shelley was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed but she and her courage will not be forgotten.

Survived by her loving husband, sons, mother, eight sisters and eight brothers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 1994 at 2 p.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 10055 So. State Street in Sandy, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment: Lake Hills Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary.
