Vern Clay Mangelson, 82, passed away June 7, 1994 at his home in Levan, Utah.

Born October 4, 1911 in Levan, Utah to Charles A. and Emma Nielsen Mangelson. Married Vivian Stevens June 10, 1937 in the Manti LDS Temple.He was a farmer and stockman. He operated Vern's Store for 27 years. He took pride in raising and selling purebred Polled Hereford cattle. He served on the ASC Committee and the Levan Town Board. He was a member of the Levan Lions Club. He recorded the daily weather for the Levan Weather Station which has been in existance for over 100 years. He was an ordinance worker at the Provo and Manti LDS Temples and was a High Priest in the Levan Ward.

Survived by his wife, Vivian of Levan; two daughters and one son, Mary and Vaughn Mathews, Murray; Paul and Sandra Mangelson, Levan; Nancy McPherson, Nephi; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandsons, a sister, Anna Mae and Karl Newton, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 1994 at the Levan LDS Ward Chapel, 25 North 100 East. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi and at the Church one hour prior to services. Burial in the Levan Cemetery.
