Our loving husband, father and grandfather Jakob Dehaan, age 64, died June 8, 1994 at home in Midvale.
Born July 21, 1929 in Ysselstein, Holland to Hermanus de Haan and Aaltje Dirkje van der Geer. He married Johanna Adriana Hendriks on March 3, 1954 in the Hague, Holland. Emigrated to the U.S. in 1957. He worked for 8 years as Design Engineer for Philips Electronics in the Netherlands, approximately 20 years as Senior Design Engineer for E-Systems and 8 years as Principal Engineer for Unisys. Retired in 1989.He loved nature and hiking our beautiful Wasatch Mountains, swimming, traveling and collecting books.
He was a real family man and was particularly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from his children during his brief illness.
Survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Johanna; daughters, Irma Micale, Linda (Michael) Stein, Diane Dehaan, Norma (Craig) Smith, Stella Lee; seven grandchildren. Also survived by his father, stepmother, three brothers and four sisters residing in Holland.
Graveside services will be Saturday, June 11, 1994 at 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East; where friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to services. Funeral directors: Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary.
