J. Lynden Mather, 82, passed away quietly June 8, 1994 at his home.

Born April 2, 1912 in Smithfield, Utah to John Mather and Leone Robinson. Moved to Salt Lake at 7 years old. Co-Owner of Mather's Egg Company until 1960. Home builder, served term in Utah State Legislature, active member LDS Church, served two missions, served as bishop twice for Lorraine and Grant 8th Wards.Married Priscilla Musser on October 14, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death. Married Julia Pia Lacey May 30, 1987.

Survived by wife, Julia; three sons and four daughters: Lynda (Rick) Rowley, Coalville; Doug (Kathy) Mather; Jerry (Sheryl) Mather; Sallee (Stan) Demars, Rhode Island; Jenna (Paul) Jackson; Robyn (Steve) Reading; Shane (Jeanne) Mather; 34 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Engar and Janice (Ralph) Moffat; one brother, G.R. (Jean) Mather.

Viewing Friday, June 10 from 6 to 8:30 at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South and prior to service on Saturday, 10:30 to 11:30. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11 at 12 noon at the Grant 8th Ward, 3400 So. 1100 East.
