A Brigham Young University law student has been selected by the William J. Fulbright Foreign Scholarships Board to conduct Islamic law research in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the 1994-95 academic year.

Jim Phipps will research various aspects of Islamic criminal law at the King Faisal Center for Islamic Studies and Research in Riyadh.Phipps fulfilled his undergraduate work at BYU in philosophy and served as an Arabic interpreter during the gulf war.
