Bernice Lucille Bernhardt, our much loved mother, sister and niece, died on June 30, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah, of causes related to heart disease. She was 80 years old.
Lucille was born in Woodhull, Illinois on December 26, 1913, to Elvin Harrison Jeffies and Nellie Mae McConnell Jeffries. In the 1940s she left Illinois for Californai. In 1953, they moved to Portland, Oregon-- where she loved the mountains and the roses! In 1966, the family moved to Utah. In the 1970s, Lucille embarked on a job at Brasher's Auto Auction. The job soon became a career as a driver's supervisor-- which she loved even more than any desert or mountain! Thanks to all the people at Brasher's for all the great years, great times, and great road trips!Lucille is survived by: a son, John Charles Bernhardt, and a daughter, Karla Kay Bernhardt, both of Salt Lake City; by her brother, Charles William Jeffries, of Cambridge, Illinois; and by her aunt, Katie Stackhouse, also of Illinois.
