Richard M. Rhodes has been named vice president of business services for Salt Lake Community College. He was selected from among 180 applicants and will officially step into the office Aug. 22.
His primary responsibility will be to provide executive leadership for business and financial services, budget and investments to ensure the college's financial stability.Rhodes has been vice president of financial and administrative services and interim president of El Paso Community College in Texas. He also worked for New Mexico State University in similar assignments. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from New Mexico State and currently is writing a dissertation for a doctoral degree from the University of Texas/Austin.
He succeeds Heber T. Hunt, who is retiring Aug. 15 after seven years as business vice president at SLCC.
