Three Manti boys face charges in connection with the July 3 theft of a Humvee utility vehicle and equipment stolen from an Army National Guard Armory.

Two boys, ages 16 and 17, were arrested at their homes July 27. The third boy, 14, was taken into custody two days later, also at his parents' house.In addition to the Humvee, Sanpete County investigators recovered nearly $25,000 worth of equipment stolen from the armory and several other local businesses. The three boys face burglary charges in Sanpete Juvenile Court, with an arraignment scheduled for Aug. 16.

Among the items stolen from the armory: two M-16 rifles, four .22-caliber marksmanship pistols and two night-vision scopes, as well as protective masks, field rations, clothing and mobile radio telephones.

The Humvee was recovered from a gully after a county employee spotted the vehicle in Manti Canyon one day after the robbery. Deputies found the stolen armory gear in a canyon east of Manti.
