A DC-4 air tanker drops retardant on flames in the Corral Fire near McCall, Idaho, in the Payette National Forest. About 500 Army personnel have been sent there to fight the blaze, which has burned more than 29,000 acres. Thousands of firefighters are at work in Idaho and in Arizona, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming, according to the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise.
