The committee organized to find a list of candidates for provost at Utah State University has disbanded after 13 months without a final recommendation.

Bonita Wyse, dean of the College of Family Life and head of the search committee, said 160 nominees were considered since July 1993. A few were invited to campus for interviews. She said the committee ultimately was unable to agree on a list of qualified candidates. On Aug. 4, the committee agreed with Wyse's recommendation.

The position became vacant with the resignation of Karen Morse.
