About one month before the Utah State Centennial is Syracuse's centennial, on Dec. 5, 1995. Plans are now being made for a yearlong celebration of activities that would begin in December of this year.

The city has already organized a city centennial committee, headed by Kelly and Sandy Hansen.Fund-raising projects are in the works, with two main legacy projects planned - the development of a new park and a clock tower east of the new city municipal complex.

Some Syracuse centennial events would also tie into the state centennial.
