Stefan Edberg defeated a hobbled Amos Mansdorf Friday to reach the semis of the ATP Championship.

Mansdorf had won the first set 7-5 against a ragged Edberg, the No. 2 seed. But after Mansdorf's ankle injury Edberg won the second set, 6-4, and then match when Mansdorf was unable to continue.Edberg's semifinal opponent will be third-seeded Michael Stich of Germany, who beat Alex O'Brien, 6-2, 6-4. Defending champion Michael Chang will meet David Wheaton, who eliminated Jim Courier, in the other semifinal.
