A locally heavy thunderstorm moved through the Salt Lake area about 9:30 p.m. Friday night, downing power lines and flooding streets. No injuries were reported.
The storm was part of a cluster of storms that formed in southwestern Utah and blew northeast with winds up to 45 miles per hour throughout the night, according to the National Weather Service.An inch of rain fell in about 30 minutes near the Sugar House area while flooded streets hindered traffic on Foothill Boulevard between 1700 South and 1500 South.
In West Valley, arcing power lines caused power outages in the area of 2900 South to 4100 South and 1400 West to 2800 West.
