Gov. Mike Leavitt appointed two Salt Lake County Juvenile Division deputies to the 3rd District Juvenile Court Friday.
Chief Deputy Frederic M. Oddone and Deputy Kimberly K. Hornak were appointed to the positions created in the Child Welfare Reform Act of 1994.Oddone is a graduate of the University of Utah and has been affiliated with the county attorney's office for about 22 years. Oddone is also a prosecutor on the Anti-Violence Subcommittee of the Utah Substance Abuse and Anti-Violence Coordinating Council. He is currently a member of the Salt Lake City Mayor's Task Force on Gang Violence.
Hornak is a graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Wash., and has been a prosecutor for the Salt Lake County and assistant attorney general in the state attorney general's Criminal Appeals Division. She also chairs the Children and the Law Committee of the American Bar Association.
