The district, its attorney and the state's Risk Management office all investigated the claims, which the employee made against a central office administrator, and found them to be without basis, Superintendent Loren G. Burton told the Granite Board of Education recently. However, the board decided it would be preferable to settle the matter than to face the potential costs of litigation. The complainant was paid by Risk Management, which handles liability issues for many state agencies, not with direct district funds.
