The best women golfers in the Utah will be on hand at the Toana Vista Golf Course the next three days for the annual Women's State Amateur golf tournament.
The 54-hole tournament begins today, continues Sunday and will conclude Monday.Former State Am champ Lachell Simmons, who won the Women's City Parks earlier this summer, will be one of the favorites to win the tourney. Others to keep an eye on include Stephanie Brockbank, Joyce Billings, Sharon Probst, Stacy Tyler and Jamie Stevenson.
Some 110 golfers in five flights will compete. Tee times will be between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. each day.
Although last year's champion Melanie Warren has turned professional and won't compete, she will be on hand to present the winner's jacket to the new champion.
