The State Department announcement said: "With the breakup of Aeroflot into many small airlines, travel within Russia is often unreliable. Domestic air travelers must often cope with unpredictable schedules and difficult conditions, including deterioration and overloading."The Russian Embassy expressed concern that the State Department announcement might "affect Aeroflot International, though it does not even fly domestic routes," and which, the Russians said, "enjoys a sound reputation for performance, safety and passenger satisfaction."
