The hills are alive with the sound of music - country-western, that is - and now stamps are alive featuring the top entertainers who have popularized this style of music.

Beaming beyond the borders of its origination in the United States, country-western artists are hailed on a new set of stamps issued by Antigua and Barbuda in the West Indies. The stamps are a tribute to the "Stars of Country and Western Music" past and present.The issuance consists of three sheetlets of 24 different vertical 75-cent stamps plus three 6 souvenir sheets depicting country-western stars who have entertained over the years.

Sheetlet One has Hank Snow, Gene Autry, Jimmie Rodgers, Ernest Tubb, Eddy Arnold, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and George Jones.

Sheetlet Two has Travis Tritt, Dwight Yoakam, Billy Ray Cyrus, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Clint Black and Eddie Rabbit.

Sheetlet Three has Patsy Cline, Tanya Tucker, Dolly Parton, Anne Murray, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire and Skeeter Davis.

Last year, the U.S. Postal Service issued several stamps hailing many of the same entertainers.
