A 30-year-old Washington man was killed when he was struck by a car while crossing a street.

The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family, was struck about 9:50 p.m. by a westbound car driven by a male juvenile near 1000 West and 3300 South, said South Salt Lake police Sgt. Tom Keskey. The impact knocked the man about 100 yards and shattered the car windshield.The man was apparently walking north when the accident occurred. There were two other male passengers in the car. One suffered facial lacerations and was treated at the scene. The driver and the other passenger were unharmed.
