Hazel Prince Stapley, age 81, died August 12, 1994, at the Dixie Regional Medical Center.

She was born November 16, 1912 in New Harmony, a daughter of George Francis and Nancy Elizabeth Pace Prince. She married D. Evan Stapley on September 30, 1930 in the St. George LDS Temple. He died December 17, 1989.Hazel and Dee built and operated Dee's Motel in Beaver. She was an active member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are four daughters, a son and their spouses: Marilyn and Gene Rasmussen of Santa Clara, Claudia and Bob Dykman of Midvale, Utah; Georgia and Gary Jones of Cedar City; DeAnna and Lane Elmer of Santa Clara; and Evan and Faith Stapley of Washington; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Marion Prince of New Harmony and a sister, Florence Quist of Salt Lake City. Hazel was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Chase Kelsey.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 1994, 11:00 a.m., at the St. George Nineteenth Ward Chapel, 550 East 700 South. Friends may call at the Nineteenth Ward on Monday evening from 7:30 until 8:30, and again at the ward on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Funeral directors are the Spilsbury-Desert Rose Mortuary, St. George. Graveside services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah.
