Kenneth L. Andersen, 57, died August 12, 1994 in a Murray hospital of heart failure.
He was born January 11, 1937 in Salt Lake City to Clayburn N. and Henrietta Smith Andersen. He married his high school sweetheart, Kay Melton, August 9, 1957 in Salt Lake City, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a graduate of Murray High School, and was currently a senior at the University of Utah in history. An active member of the LDS church, he served in a Bishopric, as a scout leader and a family history consultant. He was an employee of the Graybar Electric and G. E. Eleectric, before he started in own sign business, Andcolite. He enjoyed athletics, computers, electricity and family history. He served in the Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve. Ken was extremely innovative, given a problem he could always resolve it.Survivors: wife, children, Michael K. Andersen (Chris), Jill K. Learned (Herb), Tristen L. Blackburn (Keith), Sharen K. Andersen, David K. Andersen, Michael J. Andersen, Tara L. Andersen, Chantal K. Andersen, Kym E. Andersen, Kyle L. Andersen, 13 grandchildren; brother, James R. Andersen (Gwen); mother-in-law, Ruth Palmer. Preceded in death by his father, Clayburn; and mother, Henrietta A. Scoffield.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday,
August 16th at 1:00 p.m. in the Murray City
Cemetery, 5600 So. Vine Street. Friends may call at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary 4760 So. State St.
Monday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to the American Heart Assoc. 645 East 400 South.
